The 24hr Reception was great as both nights we arrived after 2am and were let in right away. The location was very convenient to the main street and the hotel overall was fairly clean with the only down side being the useless pillows. Would definately use this hotel again when in town.
Close to town centre. 24 hour reception. In-house movies. Clean room and bathroom. Upon check-in we were upgraded to a larger room which was nice but that was where the good service ended. Housekeeping ladies were lovely.
Breakfast finished at 9:30am on a saturday! No water at breakfast, milk was tepid and apple juice watered down. BBQ not functional. I stay at a lot of hotels for work and I know the room service is a rip-off but the room service menu at this hotel was exceptionally expensive.
The hotel was ideally situated for shopping and eating out. As it was very hot the lovely swimming pool was very welcome. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
Great location, right near main street of Kal. Good sized rooms, with plenty of space. Great view over Kal from 3rd floor
Very noisy - from party goers turning up at 2am, to mine site workers starting at 5am, there was constant noise during the night.
Features as seen on the internet, room dated but clean and well presented
Very dated decor for the price, really due for some modernisation. Price quoted on the internet included breakfast but then told at breakfast time it was only continental breakfast, I opted to pay extra for the breakfast I thought I had already paid for, when it arrived it was ok but the standard was at the lower end of the scale that I would have expected. I complained at having to pay a 1.5% levy for paying by credit card, main reason being is that credit card is the payment of choice for hotels as it guarantees that they get paid for everything that the hotel guest uses, why penalise the guest for your advantage? Also the hotel would only be paying around 0.5% for the credit card use, so its just a money grab!, This alone would make me think twice about using the hotel again. I travel all over the world, and for hotels to charge a cc levy is very uncommon.
Clean, friendly, professional, convenient and value for money. I will stay here again on my next trip to Kalgoorlie
Mediocre Breakfast, rough restaurant & reception service, rundown hallway (carpet) at 1st floor, extremely high charges for Internet service
Clean and friendly staff , couldnt ask for a better place to stay ... so thank you Geoff Budny
Price was far too high. On internet we found out that the hotel was fully booked and just one room available. This was not the case!!! Zo we had the wrong information and based our decision to book Ibis Kalgoorlie on that totally wrong information! For the first night we had to pay 200 Aus dollar and for the second night 300!! We asked for the reason and the receptionist said it was because of the time of year.... Unbelievable! It is no holiday season and no public holiday. Furthermore we had to pay extra for Wifi / internet. In most hotels this is An extra service and those hotels are all much cheaper! So we regret our choice very much and Will never come back to this hotel.
It was convenient for what we wanted to do and visit.
Very noisy. Noise from rooms above and next to ours plus outside.
The location is excellent close to the main street in walking distance to hotels and restaurants.
Central location. Friendly staff. Nice entry hall. Television movies and channels available for free. Size of the room.
No decafinated coffee or tea. Out of date snacks in the room. Lumpy pillows. Towels were old, frayed and disclosures not suitable for use. We used our own as they looked awful. Water pressure in shower too low. The bed moved around when lay on it as has unlock able wheels.
The friendly and helpful reception staff. Free parking. A walk to restaurants and shopping
The buffet breakfast was disgusting. The scrambled eggs were overcooked and green, sausages were uncooked and the hash browns were overlooked. Nothing was done to address the complaints we made. A la carte ordered by one of our guests was a poor imitation of eggs Benedict. The continental breakfast we had the next day was cereal and toast, no croissants or cheese platter.
Cost of food and portion size. I probably had the most expensive pork rib in the southern hemisphere. The potato that went with the meal outweighed the meat by far.
Nice modern clean rooms. Great location for Town Centre.
Staff could have been friendlier. Not much atmosphere in the lounge or restaurant. Think Wi-Fi could have been included in the room rate.
